Ensenada Backpacker | Hostel in Mexico

Welcome to Ensenada México

Ensenada is only 80 miles south of San Diego, travellers can get a taste of Mexican food, culture and nightlife. Californians flock to this beautiful sea port, one of the largest on the Baja peninsula, for rest, relaxation and excellent outdoor recreation activities. From surfing and sea kayaking to horseriding and mountain biking, even the most discerning sportsperson will be impressed. Ensenada's nightlife is also a big draw. Papas and Beer and Hussong's Cantina serve up an on-going party atmosphere and lots of tequila, while nearby vineyards offer wine-tasting in a more traditional and serene setting. Nature enthusiasts are thrilled by the sight of grey whales and the underwater cave that randomly squirts water at onlookers. Whatever your interests, enchanting Ensenada will not disappoint. Some of the popular events in Ensenada include: Baja 500/1000 Off Road Races, Rosarito - Ensenada Bicycle Ride, Grape Harvest/Wine Festival, Carnival, Estero Beach Volleyball Tournament, Sport Fishing Tournament, Newport Beach - Ensenada Yacht Race, Ensenada de Todos Anniversary Party, etc.

Whale Watching

Each season from December 15 to April 15, enjoy the sightings of the magnificent gray whale migration on a journey from the cold northern seas of Alaska to the warm lagoons located at the center of the peninsula of Baja California. Traveling more than 10,000 miles, gray whales swim day and night for about four months. The whales swim near the coast and go either alone or in small groups. Thousands of people across North America on the shores of the Pacific Ocean each year admire the passing of these incredible creatures sometime almost to the brink of extinction.

Visit the Wine Route and discover our wine project

The wine region of Ensenada boasts over twenty-five thousand acres of vineyards, and has more than seventy wineries in its valleys. This is where ninety percent of the country's wines are produced.

We contribute to a project named Alximia. Alximia is a wine-making adventure born from the meeting of the senses and the world, with special attention to the earth, the plant, the fruit and its benefits. We are trying to understand, use and preserve nature.

A family business focused on the work of the sensible. It is a group born at home, that appreciate the respect for the environment, in the tradition of teaching and knowledge transfer.
